A girl student drowned in Debiganj
PANCHAGARH. August, 6, 2020(BSS)- A girl student of primary school drowned in a river at Sonaher union in Debiganj upazila of the district on Wednesday .
Debiganj police recovered the body of the student, identified as Rehena Begum 9, daughter of Abdur Rouf of Nurur Bazer in Debiganj upazila, a day after missing in the river Karkoria.
She was a class three student of Sonaher Government Primary School.
Sonaher union parishad chairman Rahimul Islam Bulbul and victim’s family sources said Rehena met the tragic end when she was bathing with villagers in Karkoria River yesterday .
At certain stage, Rehena went missing but the family of the victim and villagers after an extensive search could not trace her .
Being informed, Debiganj thana police rushed to the spot and found the body floating in the river and recovered it with the help of villagers this morning .
Police handed over the body to the relatives of the victim for burial .
