MANIKGANJ, Aug 6, 2020 (BSS) – A husband and his wife were killed and 10 others injured in an accident on Dhaka-Aricha High Way this morning.
The deceased was identified as Yeasmin Begum 40, an employee of Palli Biddyut Samiti and her husband Humayun Ahmed, an employee of Dhaka City Corporation.
The accident occurred at about 9 am when Humayun Ahmed accompanying his wife in a motorcycle reached at Manikganj Palli Biddyut Samiti Office gate suddenly a speedy passenger bus of Golden Paribahan knocked them, said Senior General Manager of Manikganj Palli Biddyut Samiti Abdur Rashid Mridha
Humayun Ahmed died on the spot and Yeasmin died immediately after admission into Manikganj 250 bed hospital.
Humayun met the tragic accident when he was riding the motorcycle to drop his wife in her office .
The bodies of the deceased were brought to Manikganj hospital morgue for autopsy.
Monirul Islam Officer-in-Charge (OC), Golora High Way Police said 10 other passengers of the bus who sustained injuries were locally treated and released after first aid.
Police and locals seized the bus but the driver and its assistant however fled the scene.
