Tree plantation programme launched in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Aug 6, 2020 (BSS) – Department of Youth Development (DYD) has launched a tree plantation programmme in the district marking the 71st birth anniversary of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin formally inaugurated the tree plantation programme on Wednesday by planting a sapling on the premises of Youth Training Centre (YTC) in Komorpur area under Ballamjhar Union of Sadar upazila in the district as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest put emphasis on tree plantation for maintaining ecological balance and enhancing natural beauty.
He also urged all to build a social movement about tree plantation program to attain the cherished goals of the tree plantation in the district through active participation of all.
Deputy Director (DD) of the DYD Tofayel Ahmed Khan, Sadar UNO Prasun Kumar Chakrabartee, NDC SM Foyez Uddin, deputy coordinator of the YTC A.M. Khaled and other officials of the department, invited persons including journalists were present on the occasion.
