44, including drug traders held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, June 28, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 44
persons including 23 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 218 bottles of Phensidyl and 6,500 liters of
locally-made liquor during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 18 persons including 12
drug traders, Biral Thana police arrested two persons, Birampur Thana police
arrested two persons, Kaharole Thana police arrested four drug traders,
Chirirbandar Thana police arrested five persons including three drug traders,
Birganj Thana police arrested three persons, Nawabganj Thana police arrested
two persons, Phulbari Thana police arrested two persons and Parbatipur Thana
police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with
different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
four drug traders with 218 bottles of Phensidyl and 6,500 liters of locally-
made liquor around 11pm from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the
district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
