Sheikh Kamal lived an ordinary life: Taposh

Dhaka, Aug 5, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said despite being the son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, martyred Sheikh Kamal lived a very ordinary life.

“Sheikh Kamal led a very ordinary life, for his virtue, he is immortal to us. He was well behaved, mingled with everyone…Those had spent a little time with him, still recall his memories,” he said.

He said while talking to reporters after paying homage at the grave of martyred Sheikh Kamal at Banani cemetery this morning, marking the 71st birth anniversary of the youth icon, said a press release.

The mayor said Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Bangabandhu, was endowed with many virtues. He was also a large-scaled cultural activist. Sheikh Kamal, who has outstanding organizational skills, also directly participated in the Liberation War.

“We lost him on August 15,” the mayor said adding, “If he had survived, he would have realized the dream of the father of the nation even earlier”.

Calling upon the young society, the mayor said, “Our young society can learn a lot from his life, they should focus on how to take this country forward by taking a lot from his life and building themselves.

He prayed for eternal peace of the souls of those who were martyred on August 15, including Sheikh Kamal.
