Lightning kills schoolgirl in Sherpur
SHERPUR, Aug 4, 2020 (BSS) – A schoolgirl was killed in lightning strikes
at Julgaon village in Jhenaigati upazila of the district this noon.
The deceased was identified as Shimu Akter, daughter of Ohab Ali of Julgaon
village, also a third-grade student of Farid Uddin Government Primary School.
Locals said a thunderbolt struck Shimu when she was playing in front of her
house, leaving her dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhenaigati Police Station Sarwar Hossain confirmed
the matter.
