Narcotics and smuggling goods worth of over Tk 50.42 chores recovered : BGB

DHAKA, Aug 3, 2020 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered various kinds of smuggling goods and narcotics worth of more than Taka50.42 crore through conducting drives in different places including the frontier areas in last month.

“The BGB has recovered different smuggling goods and narcotics valued of Taka 50,42,97,000 following conducting operations at different places including the frontier areas during the month of July”, said a BGB statement here today.

Of these recovered drugs, 9,41,380 pieces yaba tablets, 54,793 bottles phensidyls, 5,931 bottles foreign liquor, 1,614 cans bear, 1,216 kg cannabis, 2.370 kg heroin, 15,771 pieces stimulated injection, 7,567 pieces senegra tablet and other tablets totalling 8,94,007 pieces.

Of the smuggling goods, 1.425 grams gold, 53.523 grams silver, 1,189 pieces imitation ornaments, 38,779 pieces of cosmetics items, 2,521 pieces Sharees, 145 three pieces and shirt pieces, 120 readymade cloths, 1,083 cubic feet wood, 849kg tea, 4 trucks, one private car, 9 pickups, 22 CNG auto rickshaws and 50 motorbikes.

Besides, the BGB also has recovered one pistol, two guns, two pipe guns, one light gun and 11 round bullets. The border watchdog detained 261 smugglers, 124 Bangladeshi and 4 Indian nationals on charge of crossing border illegally.

Legal action has been taken against these detainees.
