CHATTOGRAM, July 31, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 66 persons have recovered from coronavirus infection in last 24 hours till 2pm today, raising the number of recoveries to 2234 among 14339 infected persons in Chattogram district.
“A total of 2234 coronavirus patients recovered so far and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 15.57 in the district,” civil surgeon of Chattogram Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS.
The recovered patients were discharged from different home isolations or Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district after their two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative, he said.
A total of 125 fresh people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 887 samples at six COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 81 are from Chattogram city and 44 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
Among the total 14339 coronavirus infected persons, 10023 are residents of the port city and the rest 4307 are residents of different upazilas of the district, they said.
A total of 5123 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 2234 have recovered and 232 died while the rest 6750 are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the city and district, they added.
