3 alleged JMB men held in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, July 31, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three alleged outfits of the outlawed Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a village in the district today, RAB sources said today.

The arrested persons were identified as Shukchan Ali, 60, Abdur Razzaque, 45, and Shariful Islam, 42.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at Dakra village under Charghat Upazila and arrested them around 2 am. They were reportedly holding an anti-state secret meeting at that time.

The RAB team also seized some controversial books and leaflets from their possessions, the sources added.

Another RAB team also arrested two alleged drug-peddlers with 200 grams of heroin from Seroil Bus Terminal area under Boalia Police Station in the city around 12.30 midnight.

According to the RAB sources, the arrested persons are: Faozia Begum, 28, and Abul Kalam Azad, 37.

Two separate cases were recorded with the respective police stations in these connections and the arrested persons along with the seized goods were handed over to police today.
