DHAKA, July 31, 2020 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur division; at many places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka & Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna & Barishal divisions today.
Several places over northern part of the country may see moderately heavy to heavy falls during the period, a met office release said.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over northern part; less active elsewhere over the country and weak to moderate over North Bay.
Maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 35.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today 25.0 degrees Celsius at Kutubdia and Rangpur.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 130millimeters (mm) at Rangpur.
