Food, sanitizers distributed among 575 families in Bandarban
BANDARBAN, July 29, 2020 (BSS) – Food items and sanitizers worth Tk 13 lakh have been distributed among 575 families including helpless, disabled, widows and the elderly in Bandarban Sadar, Roangchhari and Ruma upazilas of Bandarban Hill District today.
The relief assistance was provided by non-governmental development organization CCDB, under the Covid-19 Response Phase-II project, in collaboration with Tear Fund Bangladesh.
Following the government health guidelines, each family was given 20 kgs of rice, soybean oil, lentil, gram, salt, sugar, ginger, flattened rice, mask, soap and sanitizer, the organizers said.
Roangchhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Muhammad Abdullah Al Jabed, Ruma Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Shamsul Alam and other officials were present, among others, during the distribution on CCDB’s Bandarban office premises.
Earlier on May this year, food items and sanitizers were distributed among 800 poor and helpless families in the three mentioned upazilas under the program (Phase-I) project.
Beneficiaries and administration officials told BSS that the food assistance will help the poor and helpless families fight food crisis amid the Coronavirus pandemic
