Murad orders completing 12 dev projects of Info Ministry soon
DHAKA, July 29, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan today directed all concerned to complete the work of 12 development projects under the annual development programme (ADP) of the Ministry of Information quickly and smoothly.
He gave the directive while addressing a review meeting at the Ministry of Information’s conference room at the secretariat here, a press release said.
The meeting informed that the decision of extending the implementation deadline of four projects out of seven projects of Bangladesh Betar till June, 2021 is under the process.
The four projects of Bangladesh Betar are -Installation of modern and digital broadcasting equipment in Jatiya Betar Bhaban, Installation of 1000-kilowatt (KW) Medium Wave Transmitter at Bangladesh Betar Super Power Transmission Station, Transfer (Shahbagh to Agargaon), Construction and Modernization of Bangladesh Betar Shahbagh Complex (Phase 1) and Modernization of Sylhet station of Bangladesh Betar and installation of digital broadcasting equipment.
Other three projects of Bangladesh Betar are- Establishment of six full-fledged TV stations of Bangladesh Television, Modernization, Digitization and Automation of Central Broadcasting System of Bangladesh Television (Phase 1) and Launch of Country-wide Digital Terrestrial Broadcast (Phase 1).
Besides, the progress of two projects of Mass Communication Department including Strengthening Publicity/ Advocacy Activities for the Development of Rural Population and Awareness Communication Activities for Child and Women Development (Phase 5) and Introducing Audio Visual News of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Capability Building Project of BSS Journalists in creating Audio Visual News , Information Commission building construction project and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) complex construction project was also discussed in detail in the meeting.
Principal Information Officer Surath Kumar Sarkar, Director General of Bangladesh Television S M Harun-ur-Rashid, National Institute of Mass Communication director general Shahin Islam, Bangladesh Betar Director General Hosne-ara-Talukdar, Bangladesh Film Development Corporation Managing Director Nuzhat Yasmin, Bangladesh Film Archive Director General Nizamul Kabir, Department of Films and Publications Director General Md Golam Kibria and all project heads joined the meeting, among others.
