Army distributes relief goods in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, July 29, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Bangladesh Army on Wednesday distributed relief goods included rice, pulse,edible oil, sugar, soap and salt among 500 flood victims of Manikganj sadar upazila here.

Under the management of 71 Mechanized Brigade, officials and members of ninth division of Bangladesh Army conducted the relief distribution programme on the premises of Dighi Union Parishad and Manikganj Palli Biddyut Samity.

The Army members also went to the flood victim’s houses and distributed the foodstuffs who were not able to come to take the relief items due
to water.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Wadud Ullah Chowdhury, commanding officer of 15th East Bengal Regiment, said “We are here to assist the flood affected people as per the directions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Chief of Army Staff. We also have maintained all sorts of health directives while distributing relief goods during the coronavirus pandemic and it will be continued.”

Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj SM Ferdous and Superintendent of Police Rifat Rahman Shamim were present, among others, on the occasion.
