DHAKA, July 29, 2020 (BSS) –Five people, including four policemen, were injured following an explosion at Pallabi police station here this morning.

“Five people including four police were injured when a bomb exploded inside the duty officer’s room of Pallabi police station around 7am”, said Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Walid Hossen.

The injured are identified as Inspector Imranul Islam, 48, Sub Inspector (SI) Sajib Ahmed, 30, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Ankur Chandra, 28, ASI Rumi, 28 and Riaz, 28.

The injured people were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Of them, two persons are now undergoing treatment at the hospital while three others were released from the hospital after giving them fast aid.

The explosion took place when a digital weighing machine blasted inside the duty officer’s room, said the official. The bomb disposal unit has reached the spot.

Earlier on Tuesday night, police arrested three alleged terrorists and brought them to the police station. Police recovered two foreign pistols and explosive like digital weighing scale from their possession.

The police, however, said that there is no connection of militant activities with the explosion.
