Netrakona, July 28, 2020 (BSS) – State minister for social welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru here today said journalists can play vital role for upholding the truth and keep the people free from confusion and false propaganda through projecting objective news.
“The journalists have wider opportunities for highlighting the actual picture of the society like actual problems caused by the flood and Coronavirus pandemic and ongoing humanitarian services and massive relief operations of the government to mitigate the people’s sufferings triggered by flood and COVID-19 pandemic”, he said while exchanging views with local journalists on flood and Coronavirus situation at Netrakona press club this evening.
Chaired by deputy commissioner Main-UL-Islam, the views-exchanging meeting was addressed by senior journalists and leaders of the press club including vice president of Netrakona press club Abdul Hannan Ranjan, general secretary of the press club Shamolendu Paul, former vice president of the press club Haider Jahan Chowdhory and district correspondent of national news agency BSS M. Faqrul Haque.
Khasru said the government at the directives of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina continues conducting ‘massive relief operations’ which was ever witnessed in the country.
