DNCC runs anti-mosquito drives at nurseries
Dhaka, July 28, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today conducted a special anti- mosquito drive at nurseries under its jurisdiction to destroy mosquito breeding grounds to prevent dengue outbreak.
Today was the 4th day of the weeklong programme at different nurseries of the city, said a DNCC press release.
The DNCC has undertaken year-round activities under the direct guidance of Mayor Atiqul Islam to protect the city dwellers from dengue.
This year-round activities include destruction of mosquito breeding grounds, identification of hotspots, creation of databases, intensification of pesticide and fogging activities, special clean-up campaigns and massive public awareness campaigns.
In addition to the regular activities, special mosquito eradication activities have been conducted in the hospitals along with cleaning operations and mobile courts in the DNCC for two consecutive months.
Following this, special mosquito eradication activities have started in all the nurseries under DNCC.
The health department of DNCC has started this week-long program on July 25.
At the same time, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, mosquito eradication activities are being conducted every day in all the cattle markets under DNCC.
