QUADER-BNP-POLITICS-2 DHAKA

Quader said apart from the government responses, the leaders and workers of Awami League (AL) stood beside the flood victims with humanitarian supports.

Public representatives are extending their cooperation to the local administrations in taking the marooned people in flood shelter centers, distributing cooked foods and relief goods and providing health services, he added.

He said AL always stays beside the people in their well and woes and never keeps distance from the people in any disaster and never holds only press briefing, rather the party leaders and workers always rush to victims in crisis period, engage themselves in relief programme by extending humanitarian hands.

As a pro-people party, AL has set a rare example by standing beside the jobless people during the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, he added.

Tuning to Covid-19 situation, the minister said there still remain some confusions among the intending abroad goers as sample collections and test report providing activities have lack of coordination causing sufferings to people.

Describing the scenario, he said some intending aboard goers are providing their samples for Covid-19 testing by submitting their tickets before 48 or 72 hours prior to their journey but some are getting test reports before 24 hours and some are not which is creating worries among the people at the eleventh hour.

On the other hand, if the abroad goers get Covid-19 positive report, they would have to cancel their journey at the last moment which will cause financial loss and physiological trouble to them, he added.

Quader urged all concerned to fix a logical timeframe for Covid-19 tests to lessen the sufferings of aboard goers.

The minister said many people with Covid-19 symptoms are not providing their samples for testing in the recent time.

The apathy in coronavirus testing is mounting among people due to the rise of questions over standard of services at some hospitals, fixing of testing fees, long queue in receiving samples and unnecessary time killing in providing test results, he said.
