Army provides foodstuffs to orphans, distressed families in Gangachara
RANGPUR, July 28, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Army today distributed foodstuffs and
masks among 100 orphans and distressed families of Gangachara upazila here
marking the birth centenary celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Under management of the 66 Infantry Division and 72 Infantry Brigade of
Rangpur Area of Bangladesh Army, officials and members of 9 Engineer Battalion
conducted the relief and mask distribution programme.
Led by Lieutenant Kabir, the foodstuffs and masks were distributed in a
function arranged at Eahhyaul Ulum Madrasha in Gangachara Sadar union
maintaining physical distance and health directives in the wake of the
coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Before distribution of the masks and foodstuffs, Lieutenant Kabir briefly
discussed the nature and severity of COVID-19 and put importance on maintaining
physical distance, wearing masks and abiding by the health directives to prevent
spread of the deadly virus.
The 9 Engineer Battalion of 66 Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army will
distribute relief goods among 100 flood and river-erosion victim distressed
families of Gajoghontha union in Gangachara upazila of the district tomorrow,
officials said.
