Arrest warrant issued against Regent Hospital MD
DHAKA, July 27, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today issued a warrant to arrest Regent Hospital managing director (MD) Masud Pervej in a forgery case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashek Imam passed the order after recording the statement of the plaintiff Liton Miah of Jamalpur and taking the case into cognizance.
The court also ordered Bhatara Police Station officer in-charge to file a report on executing its order on September 30.
According to the case documents, Masud Pervej took Taka 28.45 lakh from the plaintiff to send him to Sweden. After taking the money, Masud gave him a visa and plane ticket. As Liton went to the airport to board the plane for Sweden, immigration officials barred him as the visa and ticket were found forged.
After that Masud Pervej was dilly-dallying to return Liton’s money, making him to file the case.
Earlier on July 26, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury placed Masud Pervej on 21-day remand in three separate fraud cases filed with Uttara West and East Police Stations.
