Five held with 7,000 Yaba tablets at Banasree
DHAKA, July 27, 2020, (BSS) – Members of Airport Zonal Team of Detective Uttara Division under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested five drug dealers with contraband yaba tablets from South Banasree area.
The arrestees are Md Sobuj Miah, ATM Masum, Md Alauddin, Md Najmul and Md Enayet Sheikh.
“On secret information, members of the airport zonal team went to Block-K of Main South Banasree Eastern Housing Project and arrested the drug dealers around 7pm on Sunday,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Uttara Division Airport Zonal Team, Md Kaiser Rizvi Qurayshi told BSS.
Eight persons tried to flee sensing their presence, but they were chased and five of them were held with the Yaba tablets, said the official.
During the primary interrogation, the detainees confessed of being involved in yaba business.
A case has been filed against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act with Khilgaon Police Station.
