Two held with phensedyl in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, July 27, 2020 (BSS) – Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 800 bottles of phensedyl from Kasiadanga area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Kasiadanga police station in the city last night, police sources said here today.

The arrested persons were identified as Muhammad Masud, 28, son of Saber Ali and Abdus Samad, 56, son of late Nazim Uddin.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Detective Branch of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) conducted a raid in the area at around 11.30 pm and arrested them with the phensidyl after searching a mango-laden mini-truck, Golam Ruhul Quddus, Additional Deputy Commissioner of RMP, said.

Later, the arrested persons along with the seized truck, mangoes and contraband goods were handed over to police.

A case was filed with Kasiadanga police station in this connection.
