8 killed as 3 motorbikes collide head-on with car in India

NEW DELHI, July 27, 2020 (BSS/XINHUA) — At least eight people were killed and several others injured Monday after three motorbikes collided head-on with a car in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, police said.

The accident took place on the Panna road in Chhatarpur district, about 383 km northeast of Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh.

“In a tragic road accident here today, three motorbikes collided head-on with a car on Panna road, killing eight people on the spot and injuring few others,” a police official said.

According to police, the injured have been removed to the nearest hospital.

Police have registered a case to ascertain the reason behind the collision.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan condoled the death of the eight people in the accident.

“Got to know about the heartbreaking news of the untimely death of eight people in a road accident in Chhatarpur. I pray to God to give peace to the departed souls and give their family members the strength to bear this immense sorrow,” Chouhan wrote on social media network Twitter.
