VGF-RICE-IRREGULARITY
No irregularities in VGF rice distribution will be tolerated: Shahab Uddin
DHAKA, July 27, 2020 (BSS) – Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Mohammad Shahab Uddin today said no irregularities will be tolerated in the distribution of rice under the VGF programme as the Awami League government believes in the welfare of people.
“Awami League government distributes VGF rice to helpless people before every Eid festival, and rice should be provided according to the quantity mentioned in the list… No irregularities will be tolerated in the distribution of VGF’s rice,” he said.
He said this while virtually inaugurating the function of distributing 10 kg of VGF rice each among 11,400 beneficiaries on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the Baralekha Upazila Parishad hall room of Moulvibazar.
The environment minister said, “The welfare of the people is the goal of the Awami League government as it is doing everything possible to keep the people free from coronavirus infection”.
He called upon all to adhere to the rules of hygiene including wearing masks at the cattle markets and maintaining social distance.
Baralekha Upazila Nirbahi Officer M Shamim Al Imran presided over the function, said a press release.
Chairman of Baralekha Upazila Parishad Soheb Ahmed, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League M Anwar Uddin and Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad M Taj Uddin and Chairman of Baralekha Sadar UP M Siraj Uddin also spoke, among others.
