Initiative taken to set up more COVID-19 hospital, PCR lab in Khulna
KHULNA, July 27, 2020 (BSS) – Government has taken initiative to set up another hospital for treatment of COVID-19 patients and to open more PCR laboratories in Khulna.
Patients will get their examine report soon after running the PCR laboratories, said Khulna Civil Surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed in a view exchange meeting with the leaders of civil society at BMA auditorium in the city on Sunday.
Government is working relentlessly for developing health sector to fulfill the rising demand of the people, he said, adding that drives will begin against unauthorized private clinic and hospitals soon.
President of Khulna BMA and Janouddog, a citizen organization, Dr Sheikh Baharul Alam presided over the meeting while Kalerkantha Bureau Chief Gauranga Nandi moderated it.
Journalist Mohendra Nath Sen delivered the welcome speech while leaders of different professional bodies including physician, teachers, political leaders and journalists attended the meeting.
Speakers demanded for building more corona dedicated hospital, PCR lab as early as possible. They also demanded to provide treatment of others patients’ side by side corona positive patients at private hospitals.
Earlier, Khulna Diabetic Hospital turned first dedicated corona hospital while four private hospitals are being prepared for the coronavirus positive patients’ treatment.
