Sadhan for rapid completion of ongoing development projects
DHAKA, July 26, 2020 (BSS) – As efficient and timely implementation of development projects under the Food Ministry brings improvement in food production, cultivation mechanism and also grain management, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder today directed all concerned officials to speed up works of the ongoing projects under an action plan.
“There should be an action plan to achieve the national target,” he said here, an official release said.
He gave the directions to the officials as he joined the meeting of the development programme of the food ministry through online video conference.
Food Secretary Mosammat Nazmanara Khanum conducted the video conference.
In the meeting, the progress of the implementation of the ongoing development projects of the ministry till June, 2020 was discussed in detail, the release added.
At the beginning of the meeting, the minister wanted to know about the activities of other projects, including Bangladesh Modern Food Storage Facilities Project from the concerned project managers.
Sadhan said eight modern steel silos with a capacity of 5.35 lakh metric tons would be constructed under the Modern Food Storage Facilities Project in collaboration with the World Bank.
The minister asked relevant officials to monitor the work of each project under the Food Department.
