Swapan urges officials to shun unnecessary expenses
DHAKA, July 26, 2020, (BSS) – Urging heads of the departments and agencies to avoid unnecessary expenses, State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Ministry Swapan Bhattacharya urged them to work relentlessly for the proper implementation of the government’s vision 2021, SDGs and the overall development.
The state minister as the chief guest came up with remarks while addressing the signing ceremony of Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for the financial year 2020-2021 between the Rural Development and Cooperatives Department under Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Ministry today, said a press release.
Presided over by Rural Development and Cooperatives Secretary Rezaul Ahsan, the state minister at the meeting emphasized on the Annual Performance Agreement and said, “Achievements are not apparent unless goals are specified. Through this agreement, the work targets of the departments and agencies under the department will be set.”
The APA will play an important role in enhancing transparency and accountability in the government work, utilisation of resources and development of institutional capacity, added the state minister.
Senior officials of ‘Amar Bari, Amar Khamar’ Project under Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), Department of Cooperatives, Bangladesh Academy of Rural Development Academy (BARD), Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bangabandhu Academy for Poverty Alleviation and Rural Development (BAPARD), Bangladesh Dairy Cooperative Union Ltd. (Milkvita), Rural Poverty Alleviation Foundation (PDBF) , signed the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for the financial year 2020-2021 with the Secretary, Rural Development and Cooperatives Department on behalf of their respective departments and agencies, added the release.
