Cultural Affairs Ministry signs APA with 17 subordinate bodies

DHAKA, July 26, 2020 (BSS) – The Ministry of Cultural Affairs today signed the “Annual Performance Agreement” (APA) for 2020-21 fiscal with its17 subordinate bodies and organisations aimed at accelerating government’s work and enhancing accountability and transparency.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid addressed the APA singing function as the chief guest with Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Badrul Arefin in the chair at the ministry’s conference room, said a press release here.

Among the 17 departments and agencies under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the 10 located in the capital Dhaka with which the ministry signed the APAs are: Bangla Academy, Archaeology Department, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Department of Public Libraries, Bangladesh National Museum, Department of Archives and Libraries, Kabi Nazrul Institute, Copyright Office, National Book Center, Bangladesh Folk and Crafts Foundation.

Addressing the function, the state minister said the the Annual Performance Agreement for the fiscal year 2020-21 has been formulated in line with the government’s election manifesto, overall development priorities of the government, 7th Five-Year Plan, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Vision 2041 and other strategic documents, the release added.

He said, according to Bangladesh’s ‘Second Perspective Plan 2021-2041’, the country will be a developed and prosperous one by 2041.

The establishment of good governance is the duty of the state to achieve this goal and the annual performance management system is an important strategy in establishing that good governance, he added.

The government is working towards that goal, said the state minister.
