Govt making coordinated efforts in flooded areas: Shameem
DHAKA, July 22, 2020 (BSS) – Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM
Enamul Hoque Shameem said today the government is making coordinated
efforts in inundated areas in the floods to stand by the marooned
people ensuring sufficient relief goods and healthcare and all other
necessaries.
“We are always staying beside the flood victims with relief goods
and health services,” he told an urgent meeting through
videoconferencing with concerned officials at grassroots on reviewing
flood situation at the ministry conference room at the secretariat.
State Minister for Water Resources Zaheed Farooque also joined it
online and gave directives to all concerned to make all-out sincere
efforts to minimize the damages of floods and stand by the victims.
Shameem said flood protection embankments got damaged in several
areas including in Faridpur but there were immediate government
responses to this end.
