SYLHET, July 22, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rose to 7,046 in the division as 156 more new patients were reported positive in the last 24 hours.
The newly detected COVID-19 patients are 91 in Sylhet, 22 in Habiganj, 28 in Moulovibazar and 15 in Sunamganj districts in the division, said Dr. Sultana Razia, Director of Sylhet regional Health Division.
“Among the total 7,046 COVID-19 patients, 3,713 are in Sylhet, 1,344 in Sunamganj, 1,091 in Habiganj and 898 in Moulovibazar districts” Dr. Sultana said.
The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 2,901 in the division till today’s noon, she said.
Among the total infected persons, 1,079 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 124 died in the division.
Among the total death, 91 are in Sylhet, 13 in Sunamganj, 10 in Habiganj and 10 in Moulovibazar district.
A total of 16,682 people were put in quarantines since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak in the division.
Among them, 16,086 have so far been released and 598 are currently remaining at home or institutional quarantines.
