National fisheries week begins in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, July 22, 2020 (BSS)- District Department of Fisheries in observance of the ‘National Fisheries Week’-2020 has released fish fries in Zila school pond of the town today.
Local lawmaker Engineer Mohammad Mozaffar Hossain formally inaugurated the week’s programme through releasing fish fry as chief gust.
Mozaffar said fish fry releasing is a time befitting programme of the department to meet the protein deficiency when the whole country is fighting against COVID-19 pandemic .
He directed the fisheries department to execute various development programmes , undertaken by the government properly.
Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman, Abul Hossain, District Fisheries Officer, Kaiser Moinul Hassan and Senior Fisheries Officer, Mamotazunnesa were among others, present on the occasion .
To mark the week , District Fisheries Department released 40 kilogram of fish fries of carp variety.
