COVID-19 cases cross 13,000 marks in Ctg district

CHATTOGRAM, July 21, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases crossed the 13,000 mark as 138 new patients were diagnosed with the lethal virus after testing 1,115 samples at six laboratories in Chattogram.

With today’s two deaths, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death in Chattogram reached 231.

“The total numbers of COVID-19 patients are now stands at 13,038 only in Chattogram district till today,” Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.

Among the newly detected patients, 89 are from Chattogram city and 49 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.

A total of 1,590 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection till today, he added.

Dr Rabbi told that a total of 30 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus at Chattogram University after testing 106 samples in last 24 hours

A total of 20 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 203 samples in last 24 hours.

Thirty two more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 203 samples during the same period.

Besides, three new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) after testing 153 samples, the civil surgeon said.

Twenty two more corona patients were identified at city’s Imperial Hospital after testing 334 samples while 27 people tested corona positive at Chevron hospital after testing 103 samples in last 24 hours.

On the other hand, four residents of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing 31 samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
