Incentive on fish cultivation executed in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, July 21, 2020 (BSS)- Fisheries Department has executed various incentive on demonstration fish cultivation programmes in the district in the just concluded fiscal year 2019-2020.

District Fisheries Office sources said as part of the project for expansion of fish cultivation technology service in union level (2nd phase) 25 demonstrations fish cultivation programme were implemented with an expenditure of TK 11 lakh 75 thousand in all seven Upazilas of the district.

The office said as part of the programme, eight demonstrations on carp mixed (Rui, Katla and Mrigel fish) were implemented at a cost of TK 2.80 lakh.

Besides, four carp nursery at a cost of TK 1.2 lakh, five mono sex Telapiya cultivation at a cost of TK 2.5 lakh, four Pangas cultivation at a cost of TK two lakh , Koi, Shing and Magur cultivation at a cost of TK 50 thousand, three Galda-carp mixed cultivation at a cost of TK 1.2 lakh and one fish cultivation in paddy field at a cost of TK 16 thousand were implemented.

Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer, Momotazunnesa said six demonstrations in Jamalpur Sadar, four demonstrations in Sarishabari and three each demonstrations in Islampur, Dewanganj, Madarganj, Melandah and Bakshiganj Upazila have been set up.

She said a demonstration team is constituted with one result demonstration (RD) and four fellow farmers .

He said fellow farmers after getting technical know how on modern fish production will be involved in fish cultivation and accordingly encourage others.

District Fisheries Officer, Md Kaisir Moinul Hassan said the aim of the project is to increase fish production through fish cultivation technology.
