MANIKGANJ, July 21, 2020 (BSS) – The government as part of its ‘Social Safety Net Program (SSNP) disbursed allowances amounting to TK 54 crore 57 lakh 27,000 among 83,090 old, widow, oppressed women and insolvent disabled people in the district in the last fiscal year.
Department of Social Services has disbursed the allowances as SSNP in all seven upazilas of the district under one of the ten special initiatives of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Under the programme, TK 29 crore , 85 lakh and 54, 000 were distributed among 49,759 old age people who got TK 500 each per month, TK 10 crore , 56 lakh and 12000 among 17, 602 widow and repressed women at TK .
500 each per month and TK 14 crore, 15 lakh and 61, 000 among 15,729 insolvent disabled at TK 750 each per month in all seven upazilas from Urban
Community Development (UCD).

Besides, Deputy Director also said each of the disabled student of primary
school got TK 750 per month, secondary student got TK 850 each per month, higher secondary level got TK 1000 each per month and higher education at TK 1200 each per month.
