Training for Gram Police members begins in Fulchhari
GAIBANDHA, JUNE 27, 2018 (BSS) -A 3-day training for the members of Gram Police began at the auditorium of Fulchhari upazila parishad here on Tuesday aimed at increasing their job related efficiency.
National Institute of Local Government has arranged the training in cooperation with upazila administration, office sources said.
An inaugural session was also held with UNO Abdul Halim Tolstoy in the chair while Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC)-General Muhammad Mizanur Rahman addressed the function as the chief guest.
The function was also addressed, among others, by upazila agriculture officer M. Asaduzzaman, upazila engineer of Local Government Engineering Department Abdul Kaiyum Uddin.
ADC (General) Muhammad Mizanur Rahman said the Gram Police Bahini were given the responsibility to maintain law and order situation in the society and assist the police and other agencies by the authority.
Terming the Gram Police members as the faithful informer of the government at grass root level he urged them to complete the training properly and to apply the knowledge of the training in practical lives to ensure peace and tranquility in the society.
A total of 70 members of Gram Police coming from seven unions of the upazila are taking part in the training.
