DNCC conducts mosquito control measures at 28 hospitals

DHAKA, July 20, 2020 (BSS) – The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) authorities today conducted mosquito killing activities at 28 city hospitals on the third day of its second phase week-long campaign to check the spread of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue or chikungunya during this monsoon, the peak period of these viral diseases.

Insecticides including larvicide and adulticide are being sprayed every day from 4:30pm to 6:30pm under the mosquito control campaign to safeguard patients, physicians and health workers from being infected by aedes mosquito borne diseases.

The normal mosquito control activities remain continued in other areas under the DNCC, said a press release here.

National Institute of ENT and Hospital at Tejgaon, National Institute of Kidney Diseases and Urology (NIKDU) and National Institute of Mental Health and Hospital (NIMH) at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, 250-Beded TB Hospital at Shyamali, Crescent Hospital and Dhaka Eye Care in Uttara, Adhunik Hospital, Marie Stopes Primer Clinic, LabAid Diagnostic and Consultation Centre, and Popular Diagnostic Centre in Mirpur-2, Shamarita Hospital and Impulse Hospital in Mahakhali area, Selina General Hospital Ibn Sina Medical College Hospital and Delta Medical College Hospital and Exim Bank Hospital in Mirpur-4 region are among the 28 facilities where the campaign was conducted today.
