DHAKA, July 20, 2020 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at some places over the country today.
Day temperature may fall 1-3 degrees Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a met office release here today.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.
Maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 35.0 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today 24.3 degrees Celsius at Teknaf.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty four hours till 6 am today was recorded 195 millimeters (mm) at Rangpur.
The sun sets at 6.47 pm today and rises at 5.23 am tomorrow in the capital.
