SAVAR, July 19, 2020 (BSS) – Dr. Subhas Chandra Das, a retired professor of Geography and Environment Department at Jahangirnagar University (JU), passed away at Enam Medical College and Hospital in Savar this morning.
He was 70.
Professor Subhas Chandra Das retired on June 29, 2017 from Geography and Environment Department of Jahangirnagar University.
Vice-chancellor (VC) of JU Prof Farzana Islam expressed profound shock at his death.
In a condolence message, the VC said, “With the death of professor Subhas, the nation lost a prominent geographer. He was a role model to the students and teachers for his dedication to teaching and research.”
“He would be remembered for his outstanding research activities in the field of geography and marine research” she added.
Dr. Farzana prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
