CHATTOGRAM, July 19, 2020 (BSS) – The number of corona infection, sample testing and deaths in Chattogram has decreased.
A total of 85 people were detected in Chattogram after testing 380 samples at five laboratories in last 24 hours, 180 more people were detected positive for coronavirus yesterday after testing 936 samples at six COVID-19 laboratories in the district.
In those two days, the number of identities remained below two hundred and the number of corona infection, sample tests and deaths in Chattogram decreased in last seven consecutive days in a row, Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS.
Among the newly detected 85 patients, 69 are from Chattogram city and 16 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
Two people died in last 24 hours, no people died yesterday and the day before while one people died on Thursday last.
“The total numbers of COVID-19 patients are now stand at 12,755 only in Chattogram district till today,” Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.
“Among the total 12,755 coronavirus infected persons, 4,952 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city as 1,535 have recovered and 229 died while the rest 6,039 are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the city and district”, Dr Fazle Rabbi said.
