RANGPUR, July 19, 2020 (BSS) – A primary school student was killed today after being struck by lightning in Uttar Sheikhpara area under ward no-31 of Rangpur metropolitan city.
“The deceased was identified as Sadhon Pahan, 10, elder son of Babu Ram Minji of the same area,” said Md. Shamsul Alam, Ward Councilor for ward no-31 of Rangpur City Corporation.
The victim boy was a student of class four at a local primary school.
The tragic incident occurred when lightning hit Sadhan, killing him on the spot, while he was fishing in a nearby water body amid inclement weather.
Officer-in-Charge of Tazhat police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Sheikh Rokunuzzaman has confirmed the incident and death.
