Massive development works underway for improving rail networks: Sujan
DHAKA, July 18, 2020 (BSS) – Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan today said massive development works are underway for improving rail networks in the country.
The government has attached priority to development of railway sector, he made the comments while visiting renovation works in different railway stations including airport, Joydevpur, Tongi and Narsingdi railway stations.
“Works are underway for two-lane railways from Joydevpur to Ishwardi and Jamalpur and four-lane railways from Dhaka to Tongi and two-lane from Tongi to Joydevpur,” the minister added.
Secretary of the Ministry of Railways Md Selim Reza, Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Railway (BR) Md Shamsuzzaman and other senior officials, among others, were present on the occasion.
