3 held with yaba tablets in Manikganj
MANIKGANJ, July 18, 2020 (BSS)- Members of Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers with 600 pieces of yaba tablets from Manikganj bus stand area under Manikganj sadar upazila on Friday evening.
The arrested was identified as Maruf Hossain, 19, son of Ismail
Hossain and Sagor Ali, 20, son of Didar Hossain of Shaljor village of Kurigram district and Shawn Ahmed, 21, son of Shamsul Alam of Garpara village under Manikganj sadar upazila.
“Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DB police conducted a drive in the area and arrested them. The policemen also recovered 600 pieces of contraband yaba tablets after searching their bodies,” Hanif Sarkar, officer-in-charge (OC) of the DB police, told BSS today.
“The arrested confessed that they had been trading yaba regularly in the area after
collecting those from bordering district Kurigram,” the OC said, adding that a case was filed against the arrested with the concerned thana in this connection.
