FENI, July 18, 2020 (BSS) – A teenager and a pre-adolescent were killed and one was injured as a lightning strike hit them around 10:30am today at Paikpara near Takiya Bazar area of Bagadana union in Sonagazi upazila of the district.
The deceased were identified as Imran, 13, son of Mohammad Gofran and Sakib, 12, son of Joynal Abedin.
Local Union Parishad Chairman KKM Ishaq Khokon told BSS that a lightning strike hit them when they were playing in a garden during the downpour, leaving two dead on the spot and injuring others.
The wounded– Nahid, 12, son of Joynal Mistri of the same area– was rescued by the locals and rushed to Feni General Hospital.
