Preparations are being taken to deal with flood damage in agriculture: Razzak

DHAKA, July 18, 2020 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak said the overall preparation is being taken to deal with the damage caused to agriculture in the flood situation.

He said this while speaking as chief guest at the distribution ceremony of ‘Financial Assistance from Agriculture Minister’s Voluntary Fund’ organized by Dhanbari Upazila Administration of Tangail from his official residence through video conference on Saturday.

Agriculture Minister said, various steps have been taken to produce more crops in the upcoming Aman and Rabi seasons. So that there is no shortage of food in the country.

The Ministry of Agriculture is working relentlessly for this purpose as not a single person has to go without food.

A total of taka four lakh was distributed as financial assistance among156 extremely poor families of Dhanbari Upazila at the cheque distribution ceremony.

Besides, a total of 60 people were given corrugated iron sheet for housing and each of the 60 people were given 3,000 taka.

Dhanbari Upazila Chairman Haruna Rashid Hira distributed these aids on behalf of the Agriculture Minister.

Among others, Dhanbari Upazila Chairman Haruna Rashid Hira, Upazila Nirbhahi Officer Arifa Siddique, Municipal Mayor Khandaker Manjurul Islam Tapan, government officials of upazila and local people’s representatives were present on the occasion.
