RAB nabs two persons, including relative of Regent Group MD
DHAKA, July 17, 2020 (BSS)- The Rapid Action Battalion arrested two persons, including a relative of managing director of Regent Group and Hospital, and recovered cheque books, 10 bottles of Phensidyl and 2,120 pieces of Yaba pills from their possession in Ashulia, Savar near the capital on Thursday.
The arrestees were Gias Uddin Jalali,61, brother-in-law of Masud Parvez, and his driver Mahmudul Hasan, 40, hailing from Choto Krishnagar area under Jajira police station of Shariatpur district.
RAB media and legal wing director lieutenant colonel Ashique Billah confirmed the matter to BSS today.
Being informed, a team of the elite force conducted a raid on Ashulia-Kashimpur road near Narsinghpur area in Savar and arrested them at around 5pm yesterday. Phensidyl and Yaba pills were recovered from the private car of Gias Uddin Jalali, he said.
Besides, RAB recovered 48 cheque books, signed by Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed, from Gias Uddin, he added.
He continued: RAB seized the private car as legal actions will be taken against the offenders under the Narcotics Control Act.
