COVID-19 cases reach 6,156 in Sylhet
SYLHET, July 15, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rose to 6,156 in the division as 166 more new patients were reported positive in the last 24 hours.
The newly detected COVID-19 patients are 43 in Sylhet, 65 in Habiganj, 44 in Moulovibazar and 24 in Sunamganj districts in the division, said Dr. Sultana Razia, the Director of Sylhet regional Health Division.
“Among the total 6,156 COVID-19 patients, 3,218 are in Sylhet, 1,206 in Sunamganj, 987 in Habiganj, 745 in Moulovibazar districts” Dr. Sultana said.
The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 2,457 with the recovery rate of 39.91 percent in the division till today’s noon, she said.
Among the total infected persons, 961 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 2,457 have recovered and 107 died in the division.
Currently, the fatality rate among the total 7,317 Covid-19 patients places at little over 1.73 percent in the division. Among the total death, 82 are in Sylhet, 11 in Sunamganj, 6 in Habiganj and 8 in Moulovibazar district.
A total of 16,370 people were put in quarantines since the beginning of the OVID-19 outbreak in the division.
Among them, 15,757 have so far been released and 613 are currently remaining at home or institutional quarantines.
