SYLHET, July 15, 2020 (BSS) – Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) today arrested a CNG run auto rickshaw driver in connection with the killing of workers union leader Iqbal Hosain Ripon.
“The arrestee , identified as Mohamad Tarek Ahmed, 21, son of Afjal Miah of Baraikandi area under Daksin Surma Upazila was wanted for his alleged involvement in Ripon murder on July 10,” said Jyotirmoy Sarkar , a media officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner of SMP.
Ripon, a general secretary of Sylhet tank lorry workers union was stabbed to death by some miscreants on July 10 at Daksin Surma Babna area.
Police arrested two other accused Saddam and Noman on July 11 after a case filed against 13 persons in the murder .
