PM mourns death of Shahjahan Siraj

DHAKA, July 15, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of valiant freedom fighter Shahjahan Siraj.

“In a condolence message, the premier recalled with profound respect Shahjahan Siraj’s outstanding contributions to the great Liberation War in 1971,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told BSS.

He said the prime minister talked to Shahjahan Siraj’s wife Rabeya Siraj and daughter over phone and consoled them.

Sheikh Hasina also expressed profound sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Siraj, also a former minister, passed away at a city hospital on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 75. He had been suffering from cancer.
