SYLHET, July 14, 2020 (BSS) – Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) in two separate drives detained two alleged drug-peddlers with yaba tablets and foreign wine during last one day .
The arrestees were identified as Raju Miah, 24 and Sharif Ahmed, 19, a press release of SMP said today.
Acting on a tip off, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of SMP conducted a raid in Baghbari area around 8.50 pm and arrested Raju Miah with 25 pieces of Yaba tablets.
A team of Shah Poran (RA) Police in another drive conducted a raid at Surma Gate area of Sylhet-Tamabil highway around 5.10 pm and arrested Sharif with four bottles of foreign wine.
The detainees were handed over to police stations with the seized goods and separate cases were filed in this connection.
