Sufia Haider Chowdhury passes away
DHAKA, July 14, 2020 (BSS) – Sufia Haider Chowdhury, wife of late journalist Ehtesham Haider Chowdhury, passed away while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) here on Monday night.
She was 80, said a press release today.
Sufia had been suffering from various old-age complications, the release added.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Sufia Haider Chowdhury.
In a condolence message, the premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Besides, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Awami League Advisory Council Member and central 14-party spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu and State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid also condoled the death of Sufia Haider Chowdhury.
In separate condolence messages, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
