DHAKA, June 26, 2018 (BSS) – Professor Dr Sachiko Hayashida and Professor Dr Fugo Takasu of Nara Women’s University, Japan today called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman.
During the meeting at the VC’s office of the university, they discussed various issues including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programmes on environment, air pollution and greenhouse gas being conducted by the University of Dhaka and Nara Women’s University, Japan.
Meanwhile, the two universities have already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic and research activities.
According to this MoU, one female student of DU will go to Japan for higher study at Nara Women’s University with scholarship in September next.
They also discussed the possibilities of increasing number of scholarship for DU students for higher study in Japan.
Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences of DU Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal and Chairman of the Department of Oceanography Prof. Dr. Md. Kawser Ahmed were present on the occasion.
